About the Company: Healing Flood Books draws it’s name from an old expression which referred to the “water and blood” that flowed from the side of Christ on the cross. John 19:34 The expression was so common that when Augustus M. Toplady, (1740-1778) wrote the famous hymn “Rock of Ages” the phrase was included in the first verse. Rock of ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee, Let the water and the blood, From Thy side, a healing flood, Be of sin the double cure, Save from wrath, and make me pure. Hollywood even depicted this healing flood in the final scene of “Ben Hur.” As described below, Healing Flood Books, Inc. is committed to assist those who are involved in healing the body, mind and soul. Purpose: The purpose of Healing Flood books is to provide tools for the world of Chaplains, Mental Health Professionals, Healthcare Professionals, and the general public that will assist them in bringing healing, comfort and hope to those in need. The tools we publish and market are intended to assist, empower, inspire and equip these “angels of mercy” in their ministries. Motives: Obedience: The first thing God told man was to be fruitful and the summary of Biblical law commands us to Love the Lord and love our neighbors as ourselves. Genesis 1:28; Leviticus 19:18; Deuteronomy 6:5; Luke 10:25-37 We desire to be obedient. Blessing motive: In being obedient we desire to be a blessing and in so doing know that we will be blessed. Proverbs 10:22; Matthew 5:7 Profit Motive: Profit is essential to the companies survival and success but not the primary objective. We have seen that profitability tends to result as we fulfill our primary objectives and stay true to our core values. Profits are a necessity, a blessing and a responsibility. Prior to earning any profits, Healing Flood Books donated a portion of it’s stock to the hospital ministry. It is the intention of Healing Flood Books, Inc. to use some of our profits to establish a foundation for the purpose of assisting people who hold to our Core Values and are involved in ministries or occupations that align with our Purpose in the exercise of their calling.
