Description of Book

Theologians refer to the suffering of Christ as his "Humiliation." When you think about it, suffering is usually a humbling experience.  Some — more than others.
When a person goes to the hospital they must surrender a measure of control to others.  As the science of medicine grows, the patient is told and understands less.  As the pressures on health care increase, there is less time for personal interaction between patients and care givers.
Having a loved one in the hospital is hard for the patient, but also it is hard for the friends and family of the patient.
Illness has separated them. In some cases the patient is not physically able to communicate. On other occasions, their minds may have so many concerns that they just don't know what to say.
The virgin Mary, "treasured up in her heart" memories of the birth of her son,  Jesus. - Luke 2:19 & 51.
Use this book to help you fill a treasure chest with loving words, sincere prayers and good deeds on behalf of your loved one while in the hospital, and after coming home.
Having a place for visitors to sign in, a place to write your prayers and keep track of cards, flowers and gifts is very important.  Once someone puts a personal note in this book, it becomes something precious.  We have heard of people opening the book months later to read the notes and prayers again because it feels so good to hear that people really care about you.
Those notes and prayers provide a tangible reminder that the patient is loved by family, friends, the larger community and by God himself.
Our hope is that the record of these kind words and deeds will fully restore the patient's dignity and zest for life while strengthening family ties and friendships for years to come.
